Background

Pakistan Arthroplasty Society (PAS) is the official representative organization for Joint Replacement Surgeons of Pakistan. The PAS recognizes the vital need for cooperation, collaboration and teamwork in order to sustain and advance the art and craft of Arthroplasty in Pakistan. Our aims are to create leadership opportunities for experienced joint replacement surgeons and promote initiatives that support the next generation of orthopaedic professionals. Pakistan Arthroplasty Society has a faculty board comprising of the leading orthopaedic surgeons of the country and has members from all over the country. The society has developed a road map for undertaking training and educational activities in the county. This involves holding saw bone workshops, live surgery demonstrations and hands on cadaveric surgery, fellowships at local center of excellence, exposure at overseas center of excellence, etc.

To promote modern arthroplasty in Pakistan through training and education, Collaborate with similar regional societies for sharing and learning the best practices, Initiate a National Joint Replacement Registry.

Objective

To promote arthroplasty and train orthopaedic surgeons from all major cities of Pakistan and to promote the concept of a clean orthopaedic operation theatre and train surgeons to use the best operation room discipline.
